Does painting the inside of your intake manifold white help disapate heat?

Sounds like a bs myth, since the inside of the engine is pitch black there.

They also say painting the manifold black outside disapates more heat!

Does painting the inside of your intake manifold white help disapate heat?
no, because no light reaches the intake manifold, so it won't help cool the air at all. you might as well get a cold air intake if you really want colder air into the engine
Reply:No. What are you trying to accomplish with the whole dissipate heat quest? You will not get more power or fuel economy by it if that is what you are after.
Reply:No but if you paint the underside with some sort of ceramic paint or heat blocker it will. It keep the intake cooler keeping the air entering the engine cooler but paint wouldn't do anything. Painting it black will also help keep it cooler. but that would be little.
Reply:Myth

you can coat the oil galley (under the intake manifold) so the oil flows a little better.

How would you paint the inside of the manifold completely?
Reply:The inside of your intake is constantly exposed to atomized petrol. how long do you think it would take for the paint to start flaking off and going into the motor. The jury is still out on the "benefits" of painting manifolds black. There are heat reflexing ceramic coatings that can be applied to the underside of the manifold that are supposed to work. I, myself can't see where there would be enough of a gain to bother with any of it.
