I own a small business. How do I sponser local nightlife events to help promote it?

I'm starting up an online retail apparel company offering stylish clothing options to career women. Right now I am working out my marketing plan. One part of the plan is to sponser events for professionals, like happy hours and sexy singles meet-and-greets for professionals in the Atlanta, Ga metro area and other major markets. Where do I begin, who do I need to know and how to I get the ball rolling?

Promote it by giving away promotional products like caps, t-shirts, etc.

You may want to check out http://www.ezadvertisingspecialties.com for promotional products you want to use for sponsoring nightlife events.

That should get the ball rolling
Reply:Go to people who needs these venues to launch their own product. Otherwise it can be expensive to do it all on your own. Eg. alcohol brands. They often need help with outfits. Ask for acknowledgements and announcements that the models are wearing your stuff. And also ask for your website to be 'flashed'.

Know which outlet is opening and talk to them to see what they are doing on their opening nights and hope to be part of the programme.

There are often ladies' nights in clubs. So, ask those places whether they are keen to do fashion shows on those nights. You will have to pay for it too.
Reply:I would start with the Chamber of Commerce. Chambers often host happy hours or business networking events on a regular basis. They are always looking for sponsors for these events. This way, they do all the event work and you just have to pay the sponsorship fee. Plus, when you sponsor a chamber event, you get a lot of publicity among their members and with the local media.
