Have you used a Furminator grooming tool to help eliminate your dog shedding?

Does it work well? My vet told us about so I bought one the other day. They are kind of pricey so I am hoping it works. We have tried several different types of de-shedding brushes/combs and none have worked.

I love it. You will never use another shedding blade ever again. It's awesome. Really, not kidding, it's amazing.

ADD:

I have a lab with a thick coat. She blows her coat twice a year. I use the furminator a couple of times a week during those times, and about once a month the rest of the year. It's not necessary to use more that that. But it is amazing when I do use it.

On a daily basis, I use a slicker brush and comb, and give a quick groom just before her breakfast.
Reply:I dont use it on my dog because it seems like its hurting him. I had one and sold it. I work at a pet store and sell them all the time . I would recommened only using them about once a week though beuase it seems to thin your dogs hair like crazy. It pulls out hair that is still attached to the dog. Im not a fan and would take it back and just get a regular slicker brush, or a suitable cheaper brush perfect for your dog breed.

You will notice it pulling out A LOT of hair, but I assure you its not all dead shedding hair!
Reply:I bought one also , but have yet to use it.

I have heard nothing but high reviews on it.

Reply:I have one and love it. It works really good and normally when I am done, my boy's coat is shinny.
Reply:I perfer a shedding blade it doesn't pull as badly and is SO much cheaper! The furmanator seems to pull and remove hair that is still attached.
