Reply:I'm not clear here - your cat on the inside or a.n. other cat on the outside?

If it's a strange cat on the outside just try washing the whole area down with an ammonia based cleanser - they generally don't like the smell much and it will clear away the smell of any other cat (which is generally the reason they are marking there).

If it's you cat inside - take him to the vet - it could be a sign of distress and can be treated!
Reply:Try to find citrus air freshener or lemon or orange essential oil to spray or brush your door with, cats hate the smell of citrus fruit.
Reply:I got this stuff on ebay called urine off, it is fantastic the reason the cat keep doing it is because its attracted back to the spot by the smell, this stuff gets rid of the smell. Its quite expensive but you pay for what you get, well worth it. ps i think they even have a web site to explain how it works. oh and dont use an ammonia cleaner, or bleach its smells like cat pee to cats, and makes them want to pee there.
Reply:trip mines..... lol no.

if it is your cat theres not much you can do except train it but you can allways buy sonic speakers for your front dooor .. they're really loud speakers that are motion sensitive to cats specificly (i think) that are in a wavelength only cats can hear. they usually scare cats off :)
Reply:If it's your cat, a neighbor's or a stray I would get it neutered - you can trap it and bring it to a vet. In many states, you can be compensated or even paid to get feral cats altered, this would likely help with the problem (especially if the cat is a male) or at least help reduce the odor.

If it's neutered, you could even contact a local feral colony (call around various shelters and rescues to find these). They are for feral cats who are spayed and neutered so that they cannot reproduce but are also fed outdoors. They can never be pets because they grew up outside instead of around people, but a feral colony is the best place for a stray cat to be. Good luck!
Reply:Kick him up the aerosol . . .
